What does ‘to feather your nest’ mean?
A nest is where a female bird lays her eggs. It is made of twigs, sticks, mud, straw, and other materials. A nest is often lined with feathers to make it comfortable.

If you are feathering your nest, it means that you are accumulating wealth for yourself, by gaining lots of materials or money. The money could come from legal or illegal means, but usually illegal or under-handed means.
Sometimes, it also means that you are gaining wealth instead of sharing the wealth – you are putting all the money you get into your own nest.
