Rainbow-coloured animals contain the colours of a rainbow.
The seven colours of the rainbow are, in order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The acronym ROYGBIV helps people remember the colours.
Mainly reptiles, birds, fish, and insects have rainbow colours.
Some birds with rainbow colours include the Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus) and the Rainbow Finch, which is also called the Gouldian Finch (Erythura gouldiaeor Chloebia goldiae).


Some reptiles with rainbow colours include the Rainbow Boa (Epicrates cenchria)and the Columbian Rainbow Boa (Epicrates maurus).
Some fish with rainbow colours include the Mediterranean Rainbow Wrasse (Coris festiva orCoris julis), Western Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia australis), Regal Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia trifasciata), and the Rainbow Cichlid (Herotilapia multispinosa).
