Orbicular Batfish

The Orbicular Batfish (Platax orbicularis) is a marine (saltwater or brackish) fish. It is also known as the Circular Batfish, the Orbiculate Batfish, the Round Batfish, or the Orbic Batfish. 

The Orbicular Batfish is disc-shaped and very thin, which is called laterally compressed. It has a fan-shaped tail.

It grows to abut 50 centimetres (20 inches) in length. 

It is native to the waters of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, from the Red Sea and East Africa to southern Japan and northern Australia. It prefers tropical shallow reefs and lagoons. It also likes mangroves.
