What is the difference between the European Carp (Cyprinus carpio) and the Mirror Carp (Cyprinus carpio carpio)?
Both the European Carp (which is also called the Common Carp) and the Mirror Carp are freshwater cyprinid fish.

The European Carp has scales all over its body, whereas the Mirror Carp has irregular and patchy scales with some parts of its body without scales. This makes the Mirror Carp look darker than the European Carp.
The European Carp is native to Europe and Asia, whereas the Mirror Carp is native to Europe.
