The Mekong Yellow-Vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier jambu) is a small passerine songbird. It is also known as the Eastern Yellow-Vented Bulbul.

The Mekong Yellow-Vented Bulbul has a slight black crest and black mask on a white head. It has brown upperparts, pale underparts, and yellow feathers at the top part of its under-tail, which is called the vent. The male and the female look similar.

 

It measures 19-25 centimetres (7.5-10 inches) tall.

The Yellow-Vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier) is native to south-east Asia, specifically from the Philippines and the countries in Indochina, such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam. The Mekong Bulbul is native to southern Myanmar, central and southern Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and south Vietnam.

It is found in a range of habitats, such as open woodlands. It does not like deep forests.

It might be nomadic, roaming from place to place regularly. It feeds on berries, fruits, flower nectar, and some insects.

The Yellow-Vented Bulbul builds a well-camouflaged nest. The nest is fragile, loose, deep, and cup-shaped, made from grass, leaves, roots, vine stems, and twigs.

The female lays 2-5 eggs.
