Gidgee Spiny-Tailed Skink

The Gidgee Spiny-Tailed Skink (Egernia stokesii) is a lizard and a reptile. It is a squamate.

The Gidgee Spiny-Tailed Skink has a thick, flattened body with small eyes. It has 26-36 rows of scales. Its tail is spiny.

It is a medium-sized lizard, measuring 16-31 centimetres (7-12 inches) in length.

The Gidgee Spiny-Tailed Skink is native to Australia in semi-arid regions from western New South Wales to the interior of Western Australia.

The Gidgee Spiny-Tailed Skink is omnivorous, eating fruit, leaves, and insects.

It is very social and lives in extended family groups, with grandparents.
