Common Brown Butterfly

The Common Brown Butterfly (Heteronympha Merope) is an Australian butterfly in the Nymphalidae family.

The Common Brown Butterfly is orange-brown with brown markings. It has a small brown-black spot on each wing.

It measures about 6-7 centimetres (3 inches).

The Common Brown Butterfly is native to the southern half of Australia.

The larvae (caterpillars) feed on plants and leaves, and the adult butterfly feeds on nectar from flowers.
