What is a Hemisphere?

A Hemisphere is half of the globe – the world.

The world has two Hemispheres. 

One half of the globe is the Northern Hemisphere (the region north of the Equator). 

The other half of the globe is the Southern Hemisphere (the region south of the Equator).
