The Jackson’s Tree Snake (Thrasops jacksoni) is a large harmless black tree snake from East Africa.

It has glossy black scales, with a short head and black eyes. It inflates its neck when it is angry. It can grow to 2.3 metres (90.5 inches) long.

The Jackson’s Tree Snake prefers forests and woodlands. It is arboreal, because it lives in trees. It can climb very tall trees.

It is a diurnal snake, being active during the day.

The Jackson’s Tree Snake eats frogs and lizards, especially chameleons, as well as small mammals, such as bats. It will eat eggs from bird nests.

Females lay about 7-12 eggs.
