The Yellow Pansy Butterfly (Junonia hierta) is an African and Asian butterfly that likes open areas and forests.
The Yellow Pansy Butterfy is small with rounded wings. Its wings are black with yellow spots. Its hind wings have a blue spot. The underside of the wings is pale yellow.

Yellow Pansy Butterfly
When it lands on the ground, the Yellow Pansy Butterfly keeps its wings flat (horizontal), instead of vertical. Therefore, it looks like the pansy flower.
The larvae (caterpillar) is dark brown with tiny blue and white spots on its back.
