The Streaky Seedeater (Crithagra striolatus) is also called the Streaky Canary. It is a finch (a passerine) found in East Africa.

The Streaky Seedeater is dark brown with a moustache and cream-coloured eyebrows. It has deep brown stripes and two narrow wing bars. Its underbelly is buff-white.

The Streaky Seedeater can grow to 15 centimetres (6 inches).

It is a common bird found in gardens as well as highlands and woodlands.

It feeds on fruit, seeds, flower buds, and sometimes insects.

It is usually found in pairs. Its nest is cup-shaped and made of grass and moss. Females lay 3-4 eggs.
