Coke’s Hartebeest

Coke’s Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus cokii) is an African antelope from Kenya and Tanzania. It is also called Kongoni. Hartebeest means tough ox.

It is large and light-brown coloured with hump shoulders and a sloping back. It has thin legs and a long, narrow face.

Coke’s Hartebeest lives on open plains and is an herbivorous grazer, feeding on grass.

The Coke’s Hartebeest can grow to 115 centimetres (45 inches) to the shoulder.

The Coke’s Hartebeest is social, forming groups.

Their predators include cheeetahs, jackals, lions, hyenas, and leopards.

It lives for 12-15 years.
